Zulie, you've given voice here to all the reasons why I stay here on Medium and have never contemplated using Substack as a writer. I do have an account there, and use it a little bit as a reader.

The points you make about not needing to have a niche and not needing to post stories to a timetable (definitely not for me) are powerful ones - but so are all the others.

P/S Reading some of the responses from others, it does seem that there is a reward/payment issue that makes them favour Substack.
