you've given a good explanation of your decision - but it's a mistake - Medium and Substack are _fundamentally_ different - Substack (like Patreon etc.) is built on the concept of individual paid subscriptions - a concept that is unsustainable when considered in the round - how many accounts can everyone be expected to support and follow - how can one individual command and sustain a monthly subscription not far off what a Netflix account costs - that is the beauty of Medium - one paid subscription gets shared around in the form of micro payments in return for reader engagement - and thank heavens the algorithm IS erratic and can't be played -
