You've done a rebranding job worthy of a specialist design company - I'm sure you could get lucrative work in that field.

On a more general note, regarding ILLUMINATION as a publication (conglomerate!) here on Medium, I wonder if it is getting TOO large.

I saw a recent post saying that they would no longer be able to adhere to the 48hr decision window because Medium will not allow a publication to have more than 30 editors. I think that rule is a sensible one, and designed to ensure that publications do not become SO large that they threaten to swamp and undermine the wider MEDIUM landscape.
