Have I understood this correctly?

You started a publication hoping to make money as a boost nominator.

Doesn't sound to me like the best of motives.

I didn't even realise there was a financial incentive for editors to nominate boosted stories. If so, surely that encourages (some of) them to boost stories that are not particularly worthy.
